A week after our visit to the Ladin speaking valley of Gherdëina, the AMuSE team at EURAC had the opportunity to take another trip into a Ladin speaking area in the dolomites of South Tyrol on December 13, 2012. This time we were kindly hosted by Dr Claudia Canins Egger, head of school in Badia, who showed us the local primary and secondary school. As part of the visit, we had the chance to observe multilingual practices at the local schools where the main languages of Ladin, Italian, and German are integrated into the curriculum and are widely used. Furthermore, Dr Canins Egger and some of the teachers at the secondary school participated in a focus group interview on the role of multilingualism for education in Ladin speaking areas. We are very thankful to our host and all the people participating in our visit at the schools of Badia – Guilan!
