European Academy of Bolzano  (EURAC),

The European Academy of Bolzano (EURAC) was founded in 1992 and is a private research and educational institution in the multilingual region of South Tyrol, Italy. More than 250 people work on extensive national and international research cooperations spread over 11 research institutes. The Institute of Specialised Communication and Multilingualism is pursuing research in three related areas: Multilingualism, Specialised Communication, and Language Technology.

University of Teacher Education Vienna

The University of Teacher Education Vienna is a public higher education institution devoted to the training and education of school teachers. The Academy is governed by the Austrian Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture. More than 400 academic staff teach about 3500 students of education (initial training), and approximately 50,000 teachers and adults   pursue further education courses.

University of Gothenburg

The Department of Swedish as a Second Language at the University of Gothenburg takes care of teacher education in Swedish as a Second Language. The department offers a master programme and a PhD-programme in Swedish as a Second Language. Furthermore, the department carries out research and provides further education in the areas of bilingual education, multilingualism and language development in schools.

Zurich University of Teacher Education

The Zurich University of Teacher Education is devoted to the training and education of teachers from kindergarten to secondary school level, and it carries out research in this area. The institution is the largest of its kind in Switzerland, with 250 to 300 faculty members who teach about 1800 students. The Zurich University of Teacher Education is a college of higher education and is part of the Union of Colleges of Higher Education in Zurich.

University of Tartu

Founded in 2001, the Faculty of Education is one of the youngest faculties at the University of Tartu (founded in 1632). The Faculty is based on the former teacher education programme and the department of education. Today, about 1500 students are trained as pre-school teachers, primary and secondary teachers as well as teachers for children with special needs.
